opening of my last speech / スピーチの冒頭

I made my last speech at Toastmasters Club in Shanghai this evening. The following is the script of that revised for reading.
先ほど、上海でのトーストマスターズクラブで、最後のスピーチをした。以下はそれを文語で書き改めたもの。

Do you know this soy sauce?
Since I’m going to leave from Shanghai, I brought it to my last Toastmasters Club meeting in Jiading and gave it away. Why to a Toastmasters Club meeting? Because the manufacturer of this soy sauce, Kikkoman*1, has a connection with Toastmasters.
What kind of connection can you guess? —The honorary CEO of Kikkoman was a member of a Toastmasters club. When he was young he developed his skills there.

Something or someone seems to have nothing to do with you should have hidden connection with you! Let’s find the connections. They make your world vivid!

As our club is an organization for education, I also need to mention: connections make your memories strong. Writing down a foreign language word 10 times is a good way to memorize it but using the word in a practical situation is the best way! For instance, from now on, every time you use soy sauce it reminds you of me!

Toastmasters club is not only for leadership and communication but also for the connections.
Dear all Toastmasters I met in Shanghai, even after I left the clubs in Shanghai, I’ll be still connected with you! These connections will make our life vivid and our memories strong.
